Measuring your Entry Doors accurately for replacement will require you to take accurate measurements of the width and height. Generally, it’s not necessary to take measurements of the depth. You will only need to take the measurement of the slab for your appointment. The size will likely fall into a standard measurement size. It may be easier to measure the height and size of the slab of the door(s) with the door open. Be sure to write down any measurements you take on a piece of paper so you only have to measure once!
Entry Door (Width): When it comes to measuring entry doors, we measure the door slab. The width of a door slab is 29.5”-30”, 31.5”-32”, 33.5” – 34” or 35.5”-36” wide.
Entry Door (Height): The height of the door should be between 79” and 80”. In the event the height of a door is an inch or two below 79”, we can typically cut the door down in size. Custom and oversized doors are above 80″ in height.
