How To Celebrate Halloween At Home During Quarantine

Some Halloween traditions may look a lot different this year, but that doesn’t mean the show can’t go on in your own home! There are many fun and easy ways to enjoy Halloween right in your own home. Here are some things you can do to get in the spirit, and have a safe and spooky Halloween.

Decorate your home

The first thing you should do is get your home in the spooky spirit. Getting lots of exterior and interior Halloween decorations will help set the fall mood for a spooktacular time. Common halloween decorations are wreaths, lights, ghosts, ghouls, fake spider webs, and other spooky things to put in the front of, or inside your home. Utilizing your doors and windows can be a great way to set up Halloween displays and decorations. Doing window treatments is especially great for larger more spacious windows such as bay or bow windows. There are many window treatments you can do to bring your windows to life:

  • Halloween themed curtains or shades
  • Putting Halloween decals and stickers on windows
  • Setting up window Halloween displays
  • Putting battery operated candles on the window sill

Pumpkin carving at home

Pumpkin carving is a great halloween tradition that you can do with yourself or family. They also serve as a great decoration for your home. Stop by at your local orchard or shop to pick up a pumpkin and get to carving. Let your creative freedom flow, or look up some awesome carving ideas for you to replicate. Don’t forget to save those pumpkin insides for a bunch of recipes you can do!

Nothing gets you in the fall mood like a good dessert. Get some ingredients to make some of your favorite dishes to enjoy. Some popular things you can make are:

  • Apple crisp
  • Pumpkin pie
  • Caramel apples
  • Spooky cupcakes
  • Pumpkin bread

Halloween movie marathon

If you’re a lover of horror and thriller movies this is a perfect thing to do. Pop on those scary films sitting in your tv stand, or head over to Netflix and other streaming services to find some great things to watch. If you’re not too keen on scary movies you can still have yourself a movie marathon with a great selection of classic family-friendly Halloween movies. You can even hop on zoom or download chrome extensions such as Netflix party to enjoy this with other family and friends! Don’t forget to pick up some candy or break out that piece of pumpkin pie you made for a mid-movie snack!

Dress up

Wearing a costume is for you! Put on those costumes from last year, get that new one you wanted to do, or maybe throw a DIY one together. Dressing up is one of the best parts of Halloween. So get that costume on, and enjoy your Halloween quarantine edition!
